Birthdays Rock

Pierre and Kayla from the Wisconsin Geological Society hosted a geological themed birthday party on Saturday, September 23rd featuring a rockhounding event at Doctor’s Park. Rocks were collected, identified and then decorated. Typical finds were dolomite, granite, basalt, and assorted crinoid fossils. A custom rock scoop made by Pierre and a piece of Wausau Moonstone were given as gifts. All of the kids had a wonderful time collecting rocks, playing in the sand, the waves, and decorating the rocks.
